Ghana's Black Maidens have qualified for the round of 16 at the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup after beating Canada 2–0 in Morocco, the Ghana Football Association reports.
Linda Achiaa opened the scoring shortly after coming off the bench. Christiana Ashiaku added the second in stoppage time to secure the result in Ghana's final Group B match.
The GFA's match report credits the substitutions by coach Joe Nana Adarkwa with changing the contest. Ghana had earlier threatened through Jessica Appiah, whose effort was turned onto the post by Canada's goalkeeper Megan Lemieux.
The victory took Ghana to four points from three group matches. It followed a defeat to Norway and a draw with Brazil, leaving the Maidens with a place in the knockout stage.
