Ghana should develop more of its own digital technology and connect young people to the jobs needed to sustain it, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has said.
Speaking at the opening of Mobex Africa 2026, Debrah called for investment in local skills, infrastructure and standards. The Ghana News Agency reported his remarks on 24 October.
He said training in coding, artificial intelligence, data analytics and cybersecurity needed to lead to practical opportunities, including internships and employment. Access should not depend on a young person's income or where they live.
Debrah also asked businesses and training institutions to work together on the skills employers need. He identified agriculture, education, health and transport among the areas where local developers could build useful services.
