The Bank of Ghana's benchmark monetary policy rate stands at 14 per cent following its September 2026 decision.
The Ghana News Agency reported on 25 September that the Monetary Policy Committee had voted unanimously to leave the rate unchanged. The report linked the decision to global uncertainty and a rise in headline inflation, alongside improvements in the domestic economy.
The central bank's website continued to display a 14 per cent policy rate when checked on 25 October.
What the number represents
The policy rate is the central bank's monetary-policy benchmark. It should not be read as a promise that every business loan or personal loan will carry that rate.
For businesses planning purchases or managing working capital, the practical comparison is the full borrowing offer from a lender, including its interest rate, charges and repayment terms. The unchanged benchmark alone does not establish that a particular customer's borrowing costs have fallen.
